Terms of Service

By accessing or using Converty ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Converty is intended for lawful personal and professional file conversion. You may:

• Convert files you own or have permission to process
• Use the Service without creating an account
• Convert multiple files in a single session
• Download and use converted outputs for any lawful purpose

Some conversions run entirely in your browser; others are processed on our servers. See our Privacy Policy and File Deletion Policy for how each path handles your data.

You may not upload or attempt to convert content that:

• Contains malware, viruses, or code designed to harm systems
• Exploits, probes, or tests vulnerabilities in our infrastructure
• Circumvents rate limits, access controls, or technical restrictions
• Is used to harass, threaten, or harm others
• Violates the intellectual property rights of others

You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose. This includes processing material that is illegal in your jurisdiction or ours — such as child exploitation material, stolen data, or content that facilitates fraud or violence.

We reserve the right to report suspected illegal activity to law enforcement and to cooperate with authorities as required by law.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and convert any file you submit. Converty does not claim ownership of your files.

If you believe content processed through the Service infringes your copyright, contact legal@converty.us with sufficient detail for us to investigate.

The Converty name, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described here.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that conversions will be error-free, that files will meet specific quality standards, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Converty and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, for free users, is zero.

Automated scraping, bulk uploading unrelated to genuine conversion needs, or any activity that degrades service quality for other users is prohibited. This includes:

• Running bots or scripts to mass-upload files without a legitimate conversion purpose
• Attempting to bypass file size limits, format restrictions, or queue controls
• Using the Service as a temporary file hosting or CDN replacement
• Probing, scanning, or stress-testing our infrastructure
• Sharing access methods designed to circumvent abuse controls

We may block IP addresses, throttle requests, reject uploads, or suspend access without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in permanent bans.

To keep the Service available for everyone, we apply rate limits on uploads, conversions, and downloads. By default, the conversion API allows up to 20 requests per minute per client, though limits may vary by:

• File type and output format
• Individual file size and total session volume
• Current server load and infrastructure capacity
• Observed patterns that suggest automated or abusive use

When you approach or exceed a limit, you may see a clear error message or temporary cooldown period. Limits are enforced automatically and are not negotiable in real time. If you have a legitimate high-volume need, contact us before attempting large batch jobs.

You may not use the Service to process, convert, or distribute content or technology in violation of applicable export control, sanctions, or trade restriction laws. This includes content subject to government embargoes or licensing requirements in your jurisdiction or ours.

By using the Service, you represent that you are not located in, or a resident of, any jurisdiction where use of the Service is prohibited by law.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or unforeseen outages may temporarily affect the Service. We are not liable for downtime or data loss resulting from such events.

Converty is offered free of charge and is supported by advertising. By using the Service, you agree that we may display banner advertisements on the site and interstitial advertisements after successful conversions, subject to cooldown rules.

In production, ads are served through Google AdSense when configured. Advertising partners may set cookies or collect data under their own policies. We do not use the contents of your files to target ads. See our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

Converty does not require user accounts for standard conversions. Because there is no persistent account, we cannot restore files or conversion history after the retention period expires.

Server-side files are automatically deleted within about one hour. Download your results before that window closes.

These terms are governed by the laws of {jurisdiction}, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in {courts}, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
